Distribution centre expects to create 250 jobs

Toolbase and Prologis UK management on site at Toolbase’s new distribution centre near Northampton

A new distribution centre being built in Northamptonshire by one of Britain’s fastest growing suppliers of tools, accessories and building supplies is set to create around 250 new jobs.

Toolstation has broken ground on the site at Prologis Park Pineham, between M1 junctions 15a and 16 and expects the site to be ready for operations in the autumn of next year.

The 500,000 sq ft facility is a key part of Toolstation’s expansion plans. The company serves customers online and via more than 500 UK branches. It is currently opening around 60 new branches a year and has seen a boom in online and digital orders, reporting annual growth of more than 22 per cent in 2020.

James Straw, capital deployment and leasing associate at Prologis UK, said: “It is great to see Toolstation secure the last space on Prologis Park Pineham which is a prime logistics location that will allow Toolstation’s current growth trajectory to continue.”
