Due to increased demand Northampton High School are opening an extra form into year 8 in September 2015 to welcome girls embarking on the next exciting phase of their academic and social lives.

With the GCSEs expanding, the key stage 4 curriculum becoming more complicated and taking more time to teach, it is an ideal time to join the school, preparing for and starting GCSE courses early. Also, English and Maths GCSEs are 50% bigger than before; joining the High School gives the benefit of individual attention so the needs of every girl can be met and prepares the girls for year 9 and the exam years.

Pupils face an increasingly competitive process to get to the best universities or into careers they want. At Northampton High, as well as outstanding academic results, the girls are supported pastorally and offered a wide range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities to ensure that they achieve their future aspirations. Through a holistic approach to learning, thinking skills are built for life-long learning and to embrace opportunities and challenges.

We believe each girl is gifted and talented in one way or another and we offer a range of enrichment opportunities and programmes across subjects to enable the talents of each individual girl to be developed and shine through. There are many co-curricular opportunities to extend and expand learning.

Our Café Sci programme is exciting and vibrant and encourages our girls’ love of STEM subjects. Outside speakers, visits from companies such as Lush, speed science networking and many more events take place throughout the year with many links with companies locally and nationally.

Our eLearning centre is a well-used resource and the new Computing curriculum is in place with our subject leader in Computing leading on integration and use of IT across all subjects.

The school is committed to sport for all and girls enjoy an afternoon of sport as well as the many extra-curricular clubs which cater for high performing teams as well as those who just love to keep fit and have fun. The new fitness suite and gym is very popular.

There are many trips both overseas, to Berlin, Cologne, French exchange, Normandy as well as more locally to enhance the curriculum. The school also has one of the highest uptakes for the Duke of Edinburgh award.

If you would like to find out more about all the school can offer your daughter through the all-important teenage years, call our Registrar, Mrs Heather Berry on 01604 765765 and come and visit us.  www.northamptonhigh.gdst.net
