Solicitors rise to employer’s anniversary challenge

The challenge: To complete 40 miles equivalent of physical exercise over 40 days, raising at least £40 per participant, to mark the 40th anniversary of regional law firm Franklins Solicitors. The result: more than £2,700 raised for Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton and Milton Keynes-based charities Willen Hospice and MacIntyre.

Participants completed their 40 miles by walking, running and cycling. Some preferred Zumba or skiing. “There was a real buzz around the challenge,” said Franklins marketing manager Rosanna Stimson.

Their efforts raised a grand total of £2,741.25. Nina Gandy, inset, corporate partnerships fundraiser at Cynthia Spencer Hospice, said: “Virtual challenges like this are still a fantastic way for participants to support good causes like Cynthia Spencer Hospice so that we can continue to care for patients and their families too. These challenges also bring teams together, as well as being great for wellbeing and mental health.”
