Construction starts on gateway retail scheme

CONSTRUCTION of a new gateway retail scheme has just started on the outskirts of Corby.

Steels for a new Costa drive-thru coffee shop have now been erected on the 1.5-acre site at Southern Gateway, Oakley Hay with further units for a McDonalds drive-thru restaurant and a 1,500 square feet unit for Dominos due to follow imminently.

Prop-Search is promoting the last remaining opportunity to acquire a retail presence within the scheme. The county-based commercial agent is offering a 1,000 square foot unit on a new lease agreement and considers it offers a huge potential for a variety of uses including hot-food takeaway.

Richard Baker, a Director of Prop-Search, said: “Over the last few years, the Park has seen excellent levels of commercial activity. An 11,000 square foot purpose-built headquarters building was developed for Pilz Automation Technology and a Beefeater family restaurant, Premier Inn hotel and a Jet petrol filling station – incorporating a Londis convenience store and a Gregg’s – are all open and trading.

“On the eastern swathe of the Park, Lagan Homes has completed the construction of 48 new homes, on a scheme known as Little Colliers.”

Samantha Jones, an Associate Director of Prop-Search, added: “Interest to date in the last unit has been brisk, although securing a compatible use is an important consideration. We welcome discussions with any interested party.”
