Another major award

MORTONS Print, which prints Business Times, ended a successful 2018 by picking up its fourth major industry award in less than two years.

The Lincolnshire firm retained the coveted Newspaper Printer of the Year title by industry bible PrintWeek, impressing the judges with the high quality of its print during at glittering awards ceremony in London.

Judges praised the printer’s ‘outstanding’ work on a number of popular titles with one commenting: ‘Excellent colour, you almost forget its newsprint.’

Mortons Print commercial manager Ken Calderwood, operations manager Jim Blyth and technical support specialist Jimmy Rossington attended the awards event.

Ken said: “We are absolutely delighted to have come out on top again despite some strong competition and it completes a notable industry double-double success for ourselves, having won Regional Newspaper Printer of the Year at the Newsawards in 2017 and also again in 2018. We believe this is an unprecedented achievement and one we are rightly proud of.

“Our successes are a just reward for all the hard work, attention to detail and commitment to quality applied by all our operational teams across the board. We are really pleased.”

Known nationally for its web offset printing capabilities, the firm offers newspaper and magloid printing as well as digital printing, ensuring publications are produced time after time to the highest quality.

Main newspaper printing services include newspaper and quarterfold magazine across a wide variety of size and paper stock specifications.

The service is backed up by Morton Mailing, providing polywrapping, enveloping, packaging, data handling and bespoke mailing plans using various postal options.
