IT’S often claimed that buying a new-build home can take the stress out of moving – and this is now backed up by new research comparing the attitudes of potential new-build customers and the general public.
Housebuilder Bellway commissioned an independent survey by YouGov – and conducted a similar survey of people actively looking for a home in its Northern Home Counties region – to find out more about people’s views of new homes.
The YouGov survey results show that 25 per cent of people feel the overall experience of buying a new-build home will be less stressful than buying second hand – compared to just six per cent of people who think purchasing a previously-owned home will be less stressful.
Home-hunters surveyed by Bellway Northern Home Counties – 40 per cent of whom had previously bought brand new – have an even more positive view of the new-build buying process, with 65 per cent saying it’s less stressful than buying a previously-owned property, compared to just five per cent who favour buying secondhand.
