Local pub is among trio still on the market

DURING the early summer of this year, Charnwood Pub Co confirmed its intention to sell the public houses within its estate and appointed Matthew Phillips Surveyors to market the properties. The response to the marketing campaign has been encouraging, with interest from a variety of pub companies, brewers, multiple operators and free traders for individual sites and for small groups within the estate. Sales are now completed in respect of BBQ and Brews at Hereford which has been acquired by Amber Taverns for conversion to a Last Orders Unit.

Sales are now completed in respect of BBQ and Brews at Hereford which has been acquired by Amber Taverns for conversion to a Last Orders Unit. The Queens at Bredbury has been sold to Bravo Inns. In addition, sales are agreed on three other sites, namely The Chequers, Leominster; The Coach and Horses, Wellingborough and The Fortescue at Billingborough. To assist the disposal process, the asking prices for the remaining three properties have been reduced. The Lion at Buckden, Cambridgeshire, an attractive 14-bedroom town centre Coaching Inn is now offered to the market off a revised freehold asking price of £899,000.  The Red Lion at Stretham near Ely, which is a successful village public house with restaurant and 11 letting bedrooms rooms is offered at a quoting price of £699,000. The asking price for Ye Three Fyshes which lies on the A428 midway between Northampton and Bedford in the sought after village of Turvey is £495,000. The asking prices are subject to contract and exclusive of VAT where chargeable.
