On target to deliver new headquarters

CONSTRUCTION to deliver 48,000 square feet of new build HQ warehouse space at Knowlhill in Milton Keynes continues to make excellent progress, since work commenced on-site at the end of last year. The units under construction are racing towards practical completion, which remains on target for the end of May.

The new scheme – Velocity – by regional developer Hampton Brook comprises two high specification units, located on corner of Kelvin Drive and Roebuck Way. Both units are now wind and water tight, with the focus on laying the floor slabs and completing all internal works, as well and landscaping and parking areas.

A pre-let of the largest building has already been agreed with the IT supply and distribution company, broadbandbuyer.com This will provide the company with 25,500 square feet to house its expanding operations.

The new facility will replace the company’s existing premises at Linford Wood, at the same time creating efficiencies in its working practices and allowing it to expand its product distribution.

Ian Jackson, Development Director of Hampton Brook, said: “The build for broadbandbuyer.com is another example where we are working with our client, structuring a transaction to suit the end user. In this instance, we are completing a comprehensive internal fit-out and are pleased to be able to offer this add-on service as part of the delivery package.

“By having a pro-active attitude and flexibility during the construction phase, we are able to facilitate a specific build-out programme that will allow for early access and provide a best-in-class service.”

Hampton Brook is speculatively constructing the second industrial facility which comprises some 22,500 square feet of high-energy-efficient accommodation. Through its appointed marketing agents, Kirby Diamond and Louch Shacklock, it is able to confirm that discussions are progressing with a number of interested parties that will undoubtedly secure further inward investment into the region.
