GOODRICH Consulting LLP is progressing well on the new 125,000 sq ft single storey warehouse extension and two storey integral offices for Butcher’s Pet Care in Crick, Northamptonshire. Butcher’s Pet Care is a manufacturer of natural dog and cat food in the UK. The company is extending its existing 260,000 sq ft production plant and headquarters, to make a combined 385,000 sq ft facility. Goodrich was appointed by Legal & General to act as project managers and quantity surveyors on the extension in February 2015.
GOODRICH Consulting LLP is progressing well on the new 125,000 sq ft single storey warehouse extension and two storey integral offices for Butcher’s Pet Care in Crick, Northamptonshire. Butcher’s Pet Care is a manufacturer of natural dog and cat food in the UK. The company is extending its existing 260,000 sq ft production plant and headquarters, to make a combined 385,000 sq ft facility. Goodrich was appointed by Legal & General to act as project managers and quantity surveyors on the extension in February 2015. Works commenced on site in January 2016 and are progressing well, with the steel frame and cladding complete and the warehouse floor slab due to be poured in August 2016. This has been a challenging site which required raising the existing ground levels by 3.5 – 4m before any construction works could begin. A number of overhead high voltage cables had to be diverted and re-routed as they crossed the area of the new extension. The site also requires extensive landscaping and bunding. Huw Thomas, Senior Project Manager, said: “The whole team has worked hard to ensure the new extension will be a success. We have gone to great lengths to ensure that Butcher’s Pet Care experience minimal disruption to their normal operations throughout the build phase. The early handover of both the new car park and the external yard areas has been of particular benefit to them. The project is on programme and will be ready for handover to Butcher’s Pet Care in September 2016.
