Pre-school thrilled by donation

MAKING another contribution as part of its Community Fund scheme, David Wilson Homes has donated £1,000 to a local pre-school in Northampton to provide much needed resources for its children.

The contribution to the charity-run Sywell and Overstone Pre-School will be put towards new toys and supplies for the children during their early learning years prior to starting school.

Hannah Wright, Deputy Manager at Sywell and Overstone Pre-School, said: “Hearing the news that we’d been chosen to receive the donation was amazing. We were thrilled and it really made our day.

“The funding will be invested in a variety of new and exciting things for the children, improving the environment for their development.

“The Community Fund scheme is a lovely gesture and we’re very thankful to David Wilson Homes. It’s great to see a large company giving something back to the communities in which it operates.”

Sywell and Overstone Pre-School takes care of 30 children each day and supports their development with a range of engaging activities.

David Wilson Homes is currently building new homes at The Avenue in Overstone and has an upcoming development in the area with sister company Barratt Homes.

Visiting the pre-school to present the cheque for £1,000 was Lesley Wright, a Secretary in the homebuilder’s sales department.

John Dillon, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer our support to Sywell and Overstone Pre-School, as they work hard on the positive development of young children in the community.

“Our Community Fund scheme is set to help a variety of charities in the area and we hope the donation will contribute to the thriving learning environment created at the pre-school.”
