A NEW housing development in Irthlingborough has welcomed its first visitors.

Davidsons Homes launched its Diamond Heights development, off Attley Way, in February with the opening of a sales office on site.

This was the first opportunity for people to visit the 88-home development, where construction work began in November. Planning permission for the scheme was granted by East Northamptonshire Council last September.

Diamond Heights will feature a collection of two, three and four-bedroom houses for sale, as well as a children’s playground and area of open space with a balancing pond.

Simon Tyler, Head of Sales for Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “Diamond Heights is the latest site in our ever-growing portfolio of developments in the South Midlands and its launch has been highly anticipated.

“The development benefits from an excellent location, alongside the River Nene and close to Irthlingborough Lakes and Meadows, and there has already been a great deal of interest from potential buyers.

“When creating a new development, we always try to draw inspiration from the towns and villages we build in and Diamond Heights is no exception. We were pleased to welcome the first visitors to the development at the weekend and showing them our plans for the site.”

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Davidsons Homes is providing funding of almost £900,000 for local services and infrastructure.

This includes £314,000 to secondary schools, £280,000 to primary schools and £150,000 for bus services. Further contributions include £62,000 to Spinney Brook Medical Centre, £19,000 to Irthlingborough Library, £30,000 in ecology contributions and £23,000 to the Upper Nene Valley Gravel Pits Special Protection Area.

A selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes have been released at the development, with prices starting from £199,995.
