Valuable development site goes under the hammer

NORTHAMPTONSHIRE County Council have instructed the auction team at Lambert Smith Hampton to include the site of the former Rockingham Dene children’s centre in their forthcoming auction to be held on 19 February.

The freehold property comprises an open rectangular site fronting and with access from the busy Rockingham Road, at its junction with Furnace Lane, which runs down one side of the site. The immediate area is predominantly residential, with nearby access onto the A43.

The property had been declared surplus by the County Council and the building demolished some time ago. The site has a planning consent granted in May 2015 for a development of up to nine dwellings on the upper portion of the site, with access off Furnace Lane.

Auctioneer Simon Riggall said: “This is an attractive residential development opportunity in an accessible location in this growing town and we anticipate strong interest from bidders.”

LSH are now in their eighth year of holding regular multi-lot auctions, offering a wide range of lots throughout the UK entered mainly by central andlocal government as well as corporate and PLC vendors.

The wide mix of property by type and value attracts a busy bidding room and with average results of around 90 per cent LSH remain at the top end of the national auction results table.

LSH are the only national auctioneers to successfully run online internet property auctions beside the traditional ballroom sales. This method of selling is particularly suited to higher value or more complex properties with high due diligence, where bidders may do so from the comfort of their board room.

The forthcoming LSH Auction will take place on the 19 February at Le Meridian Hotel, Piccadilly London W1, as a part of a larger sale with lots from around the country entered by public sector and corporate vendors.
