Young bookworms to benefit from generous donation to school library

YOUNG readers in Brackley are to benefit from a generous donation by Linden Homes Midlands which will boost the book offering in their school library.

The £500 donation made by the developer to the Friends of Bracken Leas Primary School will provide pupils with a greater choice of reading material to meet with recent changes in the national curriculum.

The new paperback story books and information books will be enjoyed by reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children later in the school year.

Bracken Leas head teacher Rachel Gallyot said: “This is a very generous donation by Linden Homes Midlands at a time when the Friends are extremely busy fundraising for a number of projects and resources for the school.

“This donation will allow us to buy a number of new non-fiction books for the library to support recent changes in the curriculum.”

Linden Homes Midlands sales director Clare Phillips said: “We are very pleased to be able to give this donation to Bracken Leas Primary School and hope that the children will enjoy their new books.

“As we have a new homes development in Brackley, which is very family-friendly, it is a great way for us to give something back to the community.”
