Last retail opportunity on new scheme

WITH work about to get under way on the development of a 1.5-acre site at Oakley Hay, Prop-Search is promoting the last remaining opportunity to acquire a retail presence within the gateway scheme, located on the outskirts of Corby.

The county based commercial property agent is offering a 1,000 square foot unit on the Southern Gateway Business Park for Midtown Capital – which it considers offers huge potential for a variety of uses including hot food takeaway. It is available to let on a new lease agreement.

Development of the site is shortly to commence with pre-lets have already been agreed with McDonalds for a drive-thru restaurant, Costa for a drive-thru coffee shop and a 1,500 square foot unit for Dominos.

Richard Baker, a Director of Prop-Search, said: “Over the last few years, the park has seen excellent levels of commercial activity. An 11,000 square foot purpose-built headquarters building was developed for Pilz Automation Technology and a Beefeater family restaurant, Premier Inn hotel and a Jet petrol filling station – incorporating a Londis convenience store and a Greggs – are all open and trading.

“On the eastern swathe of the park, just under five acres has been sold to Lagan Homes for the construction of 48 new homes. The completion of this scheme, known as Little Colliers, is scheduled for later this year.”

Samantha Jones, an Associate Director of Prop-Search, added: “We have interest in the last unit – both from national and local occupiers – although securing a compatible use is an important consideration. We welcome discussions with any interested party.”
