Achieving a perfect fit

WHEN you’re looking for new employees, on a permanent or temporary basis, one of the key things you’re looking for from a recruitment company is a candidate, or list of candidates, who are the perfect fit for the job.

WHEN you’re looking for new employees, on a permanent or temporary basis, one of the key things you’re looking for from a recruitment company is a candidate, or list of candidates, who are the perfect fit for the job.

At Universal Personnel, the emphasis is on candidate engagement, so that the clients don’t have to worry about taking on someone who is unsuitable, unwilling or not engaged with the work in hand.

The agency, in York Road, Northampton, was established in 2012 by Managing Director Richard Thompson, specialising in driving recruitment, and Simon Simfield joined as Industrial Director six months later. Together with Senior Consultant Anna Thomas and Service Consultant Siana Adams, they have built a recruitment agency that has grown steadily and has clients across Northamptonshire and, in the case of the driving division, further afield into neighbouring counties.

Simon Simfield said: “We believe that focusing on our candidates is the reason we have become successful so quickly. By making sure that we know what we need to know about them, and by ensuring that we keep them well informed about what is available, what the job will entail and, more importantly, how long it’s likely to last, they know exactly where they are and so they are more settled in their work.

“Too often, candidates are not given the full picture, they maybe think a job is going to last a lot longer than it actually will, or it isn’t the work they were expecting and they become disillusioned. That’s bad for them and for our clients and that’s the last thing we want. When someone takes a candidate from us they will get someone who’s right for the job, clear about the arrangements and who understands what’s involved. That’s why both sides can trust us to get the best outcome.”
