Caring for a major asset

THE wellbeing of staff is becoming a key factor of employers who appreciate their workforce is one of their major assets.

Management teams failing to support staff in high-pressure working environments from sales offices to classrooms can prove costly, with sick leave and notices to quit just some of the issues. A fresh way of thinking is on offer from hypnotherapist Clare Fitzpatrick of Feel Good Therapy, who works with businesses and organisations looking to make a difference.

Her services include bespoke workshops where teams can take a full day away from their daily jobs to explore new ways of handling the pressures. Or, alternatively, the workshop can be broken down into one and a half hour modules. Great for educational settings, where it can fit it into PHSE lessons, for instance.

“It is all about feeling good about yourself and your colleagues,” said Clare, who has a qualification recognised by the National Council of Hypnotherapy. “I use the latest neuroscience research to design my workshops and one-to-one sessions.

“The workshops are designed to encourage a calm and confident workforce that is in control and has the mechanisms to cope with different situations. Each workshop is designed to meet the needs of the individual business or organisation and be a lot of fun, with activities, rather than participants sitting and listening me talk.”

There is growing appreciation of the benefits of hypnotherapy, where the strength of the mind is used to help people deal with a variety of challenges, from coping with stress and anxiety to gaining confidence and self-esteem. Clare already works with a growing number of individual clients, including teenagers facing the pressures of exams, and she has sessions ready for schools and academies.

“Very often I find people are under pressure so they talk about the negatives like failing important exams but I can give them the tools to change their mindset so they can take a more positive approach to the same problem,” said Clare. “Feeling overwhelmed with the amount of work expected can be a big issue for some.

“I am passionate about being able to help others to feel good when they have been struggling. It is the best job in the world.”

Clare also offers other services, like weekly relaxation classes, which can also be arranged in businesses or organisations.
