SPECIALISTS at agency MEM Recruitment recognise there is more to a person’s life than a simple CV.

Managing director Ian McLaven and senior contracts manager Rebecca Sanders both believe their time is well spent in getting to know their candidates, to find out what makes them tick. This insight enables them to make better decisions when it comes to recommending individuals to employers.

The refreshing approach is reaping dividends with the agency looking to build on its work in filling permanent roles.

Ian, who has nearly 30 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, set up MEM in 1994. Since then it has developed meaningful partnerships with businesses in a wide range of sectors with a focus on logistics, retail and commerce.

Ian said: “We know we are in a very competitive sector but believe it is important to spend the time working closely with employers and job seekers.

“This means we have a better understanding of each client’s requirements and we can propose candidates who meet particular needs. Often the vacancies can be for someone to fill a specialist role, so we are looking for people with specific skills and experience.

“We encourage people who may be considering a change to get in touch.

“We always welcome inquiries from businesses but obviously without the right candidates we cannot be as effective as we would like to be in filling a vacancy.”

Rebecca added: “We offer a quality driven service, so we refuse to cut corners. It would be easy to simply get a batch of CVs from people who might be able to do the job and set up the interviews. This is not how we work.

“We like to understand the needs of the business and the job seeker and bring the right people together.”

The agency works across the region with offices in Wellingborough, Northampton, Bedford and Milton Keynes.
