BE among the first businesses to join our Northampton College LinkedIn group.
The College, in its continued determination to work in partnership with Northamptonshire companies, has launched an online group to link alumni with students.
Former Northampton College students now working in industry are urged to sign up and help shape and guide the future workforce. The group will also enable the College to keep track of its students as they successfully work their way up the career ladder.
Here are just a few former students now making a name for themselves:
- Gareth Waughington, a former multimedia production student who is now innovations director at Blisworth-based Creative Example: “The environment at Northampton College was good and the working knowledge my tutors had helped me improve my skill sets and outlook dramatically, as I’ve never really been academic, more of a problem solver and hands on.”
- Tom Irons, who studied Travel & Tourism and is soon heading off to Abu Dhabi to work for Etihad: “Going to Northampton College helped improve my confidence and give me the push to do what I wanted to do. The authenticity of the tutors was great, everything they taught us was relevant and useful.”
- Megan Gilbride, who studied Performing Arts (Musical Theatre), is a leading blogger and the woman behind popular fashion and lifestyle blog Wonderful You, which has amassed Megan more than 13,000 Twitter followers and 20,000 YouTube subscribers: “I absolutely loved my course at Northampton College. We got to try out so many different things and the teaching was just incredible. You need a real energy to act and perform and I’ve been able to carry that through to my videos and blogging. The College taught me how to present myself in the best possible way, to make the transition from stage to film.”
