People who enjoy a challenge

By Harry Bowden

Pebble People

DURING the destruction and devastation of the Napoleonic Wars, the people of Northampton were still able to make sure that Napoleon and his armies got their boots, yes, those boots came from Raunds.

Just one of the challenges this county has faced and overcome. Now, the Brexit fiasco… let’s just say it’s like trying to solve a broken Rubik’s Cube, blindfolded and with the toes of one foot!

We have attended many meetings, seminars, lectures and debates, and each time people agreed and disagreed in equal measure with the previous one. Whatever Brexit (or no Brexit) puts in front of us we will overcome and emerge a stronger and even better county and continue to be recognised as one of the most inspirational and aspirational places to do business in the UK.

You only have to look at the recent nominations for three of Northampton’s business leaders in the Top 100 Most Inspiring Leaders. I doubt many towns or cities get three individuals nominated at the same time. Congratulations to all three.

Pebble People Recruitment has been operating in Northampton since 2011. In this relatively short time we’ve seen a significant number of changes. As a country and as an industry we are going through a real and significant period of change. Some of those changes are necessary, clear and pretty straightforward, others, such as the Brexit Rubik Cube, less so.

At Pebble People we can’t fix the Brexit problem I’m afraid but we can make sure that you, and your team, are fully informed in relation to newly introduced or changing legislation so that you are not exposed to unnecessary risk.

GDPR, GLAA, workers rights (holiday pay and overtime etc) are some areas that some may not be fully up to date with. Our main task is to provide our clients with the highest standards of recruitment support at all times, whether that be for temporary or permanent staff, we also have a duty to make sure that they are fully informed of all relevant industry changes.

If you feel that a discussion about any areas of the recruitment process or the ever-changing legislation would be of value, feel free to call us, we’ll help. It’s free!
