Put your firm forward

SINCE the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards first booked its place on the county’s events calendar three years ago, firms from all sectors have been able to reap the rewards.

To win is, of course, something special, but those named as runners-up, and even those shortlisted in a category, have also seen the benefits of the resulting positive publicity.

Aimed specifically at small to medium-sized businesses, the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards celebrate the important role small firms play in the economic success of the county. Categories from Apprentice of the Year to Networking Group of the Year, and from Enterprising Business of the Year to High Growth Business of the Year, ensure there is something to suit every business, whatever their field of expertise.

Awards organiser, Damian Cummins, said: “The idea of the awards was to showcase the impressive work that so many small businesses do to contribute so much to the local economy. They are the lifeblood of industry, really.

“Each business can enter up to two categories, and there’s a good range to choose from, so they can pick the areas in which they really feel that they shine.

“The feedback from previous winners and runners-up is that the overall effect is very positive – the company and its workforce get a real boost from seeing their efforts recognised, and it’s an indication to your customers, and potential customers, that you are serious about what you do.

“We’ll be launching this year’s awards in a couple of months or so and we’d encourage anyone who thinks they’d like to let the wider community know about what they do and what they have achieved to get on the website and put themselves forward.”
