Qualifications vs training – the best of both worlds

TRAINING is a crucial part of any role but making sure the qualification achieved is right for business growth and career progression is equally as important.

Companies who put their employees forward for training are often viewed highly by potential new employees and should ensure that the courses are accredited – for instance, accountancy (AAT, ACA, ACCA, ACMA, ACIS, CIPFA), HR (CIPD), Purchasing (CIPS), Project Management (CIPS), LCCI for Executive PAs or Marketing (CIM) to mention but a few – as there are many unaccredited courses out there which do not deliver.

Equally though, when recruiting, it is important not to overlook the candidates who have tremendous experience under their belts gained from years of work, as quite often they will fulfil a role terrifically well, (if not better), even though they do not have the paperwork to prove it.

In an ideal situation, the perfect employee will not only have the qualifications, proving dedication to their chosen career, but will have the experience to support this.
