Val, who has worked in the health care sector for many years, manages the business on a day-to-day basis, while her daughters Amanda and Alison work as senior/principal consultants alongside executive consultant Charlotte Long, who deals with permanent and temporary locums including qualified, HCPC registered social workers. Val’s husband, Richard, is also a director of Elite Care and Cheryl, who has been with the company from day one looks after all the finances of the company on a part-time basis alongside company accountant Robin.
Val said: “What is unique about Elite Care is that all our office staff are from a medical and HR background, allowing us to fully understand our clients’ needs. We know what it feels like when a client calls to inform us that one of their own night staff has not turned up at 10pm. We offer an on-call service to cover agency shifts outside office hours, a great comfort to our clients.
We look after some clients on a long-term basis, sometimes to cover long-term sick leave or maternity leave, annual leave or just for extra staff that are needed on and ongoing but on different days each week, other clients use the agency as a support back up for their own staff. Clients can use the agency staff as little or as often as they like. We can also recruit permanent staff for our clients.
We focus on recruiting the very best candidates and locums who have already worked in the care industry for a minimum of one year, we take them through a friendly but thorough face-to-face interview and pre-employment check that include training updates, references, right to work and DBS checks before we offer work. In-house trainer Louise conducts monthly training updates for all new and existing locums.
