Bringing the town together

BUSINESS people in the Market Harborough area are discovering a new way of networking with individuals who share their enthusiasm to support each other.

The Market Harborough Business Network is one of the latest groups to join the ever-expanding UK Business Network Group. The networking enterprise has already proved a success in Northamptonshire towns, with the first being set up in Kettering.

The not-for-profit network, run by volunteers, is free to join and the £4 fee to attend the monthly meetings is to cover the costs of hiring the venue and refreshments.

Now, locally-based Helen Gadsby, an Independent Consultant with Arbonne International and Caroline George of Queen Bee Events have taken the initiative and launched a group that is open to businesses in Market Harborough and the surrounding villages.

Caroline said: “We know many people recognise the value of networking but are looking for something different. We believe members of the Market Harborough Business Network will see this as an opportunity to meet new people and revive old contacts at regular meetings.”

Members who sign up not only benefit from free membership but can also take advantage of a listing on the network’s directory with a link to their company website and free promotion on social media.

The first group was set up by Kettering-based Simon Cox and since then he and his leadership team Marie Baker, Nigel Baker, Nick Freeman, Sarah McCarron and Bryan Lade have helped make KBN a huge success.

Caroline said: “Since we launched the Market Harborough group in April there has been real support from across our area and hope this is making a difference to businesses based in the town or surrounding villages.”

The group meets each month and its next meeting is on Friday, 13 July at The Staging Post Log Cabin next to the Theatre, Kilworth House Hotel, Lutterworth Road, North Kilworth, LE17 6JE from 9.30am. To register go to www.marketharboroughbusinessnetwork.co.uk
