Easing the health and safety pressure

By Mark Palmer

Help And Safety At Work

IT may seem time consuming, or maybe pedantic, or possibly just not economically viable, but the truth is that ensuring you have the proper health and safety procedures in place is vital for you, as the business owner, your employees, and your premises.

I started my company in 2004, and I well remember those early days when getting your business going, finding customers and making your mark, was all you could think about.

Which is why our services are designed to take the weight of health and safety off the shoulders of our clients, whether they are new or well-established, leaving them to focus on their core business.

I have learnt that our clients are looking for a friendly, reliable provider that can cover a number of services, as well as one that they feel comfortable ringing for help and advice at any time.

Our services include:

Fire risk assessments – from the moment you start to operate you must have a fire risk assessment in place for where people ‘work, meet or gather’ There are no exemptions, even for new, small start-ups.

Fire training – companies have a duty of care to arrange fire training for staff. We run fire extinguisher and fire warden training courses that ensure compliance with The Fire Safety Order 2005.

Emergency planning – every business has to have an effective emergency plan. We can help you draw up a plan and ensure your staff understand and practise the emergency plan.

Health and Safety Assessments – we offer first aid training and carry out Health and Safety Risk Assessments to identify where training in things like accident procedures, personal protective equipment, hazardous substances and workstation procedure is required.

PAT Testing – portable appliances need to be checked regularly to ensure they are safe and compliant. This includes anything from kettles and extension leads to printers, computers and photocopiers.

Our commitment is to deliver a clear message in safety and deliver a hassle free, prompt and reliable service, visiting premises to help improve either physical aspects or procedures and training to protect staff, equipment and premises.
