AT SilverDisc, Northamptonshire's biggest and oldest digital marketing agency, we understand what's involved in starting and staying in business. Now in our 25th year, we've done it ourselves and we've seen many clients do it too in that time.
One client, Be Wiser Insurance, is celebrating ten years in business this month and we have been working in partnership with them every step of their way, providing all aspects of their digital marketing.
Starting small with fewer than ten staff, Be Wiser now employs more than 700 staff and were listed three years in a row in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100, a very rare feat. In addition they have been profitable for every one of their ten years and as well as the Fast Track 100 were also listed in the Profit Track 100. They have won many other awards, including for their apprenticeships and training schemes for which they are particularly recognised.
On their tenth anniversary I asked Be Wiser's Director of Finance and Marketing, Andrew Dunkerley, for some tips on starting and staying in business.
Top of Andrew's list was focusing on the customer.
"Our commitment to the customer begins long before we speak to them," he said. "Customers demand quality products and excellent service both during and after the sale. Having trained professionals across the business is the Be Wiser way. All staff receive a minimum six-week induction period during which time they have to pass a Chartered Insurance Institute qualification before being allowed to operate within the business."
Next on Andrew's list was marketing, which is where SilverDisc helps. Part of Be Wiser's growth has been down to increasing customer lifetime value through increased renewal rates, which comes from getting the right customers in the first place.
Knowing which digital channels to use to target these customers, and how best to use those channels for new business and repeat business, is what SilverDisc brings to the partnership.
