A year of innovation and recognition

2014 has been a year of innovation and recognition for Aspers and we’ve not only seen many changes in the running of the casino, but importantly the experience we offer our loyal customers. The year began with the return of a familiar face with David Stratford appointed as General Manager.

2014 has been a year of innovation and recognition for Aspers and we’ve not only seen many changes in the running of the casino, but importantly the experience we offer our loyal customers. The year began with the return of a familiar face with David Stratford appointed as General Manager. Following his involvement in the successful launch of the largest casino outside of London, The Casino MK, David returned to bring his experience and expertise to the award-winning Aspers in Northampton. David’s appointment brought a fresh approach to Aspers campaigns and our Chips for Dinner promotion, which launched on April Fools’ Day, was no laughing matter. Whatever our customers spent on food in Clary’s Restaurant, we gifted them the amount in free playing chips, and the campaign returned the greatest response Aspers has seen to a restaurant promotion, resulting in a 20% increase in restaurant bookings month on month. In May, Aspers pushed the boundaries of the British casino industry to give five finalists the chance to become a millionaire in the UK’s biggest casino giveaway; Spin for a Million. We were proud to have one lucky contestant, Raymond Pusey, from Northampton finish as runner up in the exhilarating nationwide draw after he scooped the regional jackpot of £5,000. Once again, Aspers lead the way in UK casino innovation with the launch of our revolutionary Aspire loyalty scheme in August. Aspire sees customers rewarded with instantly transferable ‘freeplay’ for the first time in the UK thanks to innovative technology exclusive to Aspers.  Loyalty is the mainstay of any business, and it’s no different to Aspers; the Aspire loyalty scheme ensures our customers get the very best from their casino experience with instant rewards instead of the traditional points to voucher based systems offered by other casinos. Such innovation was recognised by the global gaming industry when the Aspers Group was shortlisted in the inaugural Global Gaming Awards in Las Vegas. The Aspire loyalty scheme was nominated for Best Customer Loyalty Program, with Aspers selected as the only European land-based casino operator in the category. Closer to home, we were delighted to be nominated for Excellence in Customer Care in the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards. Aspers were able to effectively demonstrate how they monitor and measure customer satisfaction, what training programmes are in place to guarantee the highest quality customer service, and how the business as grown as a result of improved customer service. Furthermore, Aspers was shortlisted in the Northamptonshire Best Bar None Awards for Best Club/ Late Night Venue; an accolade which we won in 2012 and 2013 for Tanzibar’s premium drinks and entertainment offering. One of the highlights of Aspers’ year was one close to our hearts and helped us to give something back to our community. Aspers was headline sponsor of Strictly Northampton 2014 and helped to raise thousands of pounds for the Cynthia Spencer Hospice; a charity we have supported for the past two years.  An Aspers employee took to the dance floor to bring a bit of Aspers’ glitz and glamour to the competition with her partner Andrzej Mialkowski, founder of Step by Step dance school. It was a fantastic night and we were proud to be involved in the project; congratulations to everyone all contestants and thank you for the fantastic support. All that’s left to say, is Aspers would like to wish all of our customers, suppliers and team a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
