One of a number of highlights

SCOOPING the Best New Business Award at the Corby Awards rounded off a year of highlights for Ballyhoo PR.

The judges praised the company for offering affordable PR and copywriting services to many small to medium-sized businesses as and when they like without tying them into a monthly contract, helping them to raise the profile of their businesses, brands and products at local, national and international levels.

Emma Speirs, Director of Ballyhoo PR, said: “2017 has been an amazing year for Ballyhoo PR. As we only started business in May 2016, this year has seen a lot of ‘firsts’ and highlights as the company has made its mark and experienced growth.

“These highlights have included securing a number of new retainer clients and lots of return customers for our ad-hoc services, making a profit in our first year of trading, and being asked to speak at a variety of events and provide some expert guest blogs for PR industry websites. As we don’t work in one particular industry, the work is extremely varied too.”

This work has included working with a company in Australia to launch an app in Europe, with one of the biggest names in banking that needed help with a talent search campaign, and with two companies – one in Manchester and one in Iraq – who joined forces to create a new logistics centre in Basra.

Emma added: “To win the Corby Award after seeing the quality of the finalists in the category was a bit of a shock! I started Ballyhoo PR with a vision of helping businesses at the smaller end of the scale to shout about their successes after hearing about so many small companies that were offering great services or producing innovative products and nobody knew about them.”

And 2018 looks to be just as busy, with one speaking slot already confirmed for the summer and some new PR campaigns due to start in the new year.

“At the moment, I am putting some infrastructure in place to enable the business to grow further,” said Emma. “I have recently invested in a new CRM system and some PR reporting software, and plan to make some changes to my website which hasn’t seen any major changes since the company launched last year. I am also in the process of building up a bank of freelance copywriters and media relations specialists that I can call upon to extend our service even further.”
