Topping off a fantastic year

To top off an extremely successful year, Bosworth Independent College is proud to have won the Service Excellence award at the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards in October.

The awards are in recognition of all the small to medium-size enterprises in the county, and the hard work and drive of local businesses to continually improve their services. In the Service Excellence category, eight companies were shortlisted, so Bosworth beat some strong competition to become a winner in this field.

Fiona Pocock, Principal at Bosworth, said: “The student experience is at the heart of what we do. With 33 different nationalities in our student body, of which a large majority board with us, our students’ wellbeing has to always be first and foremost. It is extremely rewarding to receive thanks and praise from both parents and students each year as they depart to top universities with bright futures ahead. We have a great sense of pride and satisfaction in all our students’ successes, especially knowing the time, effort and dedication of our staff will make a difference on the international stage.”

Top 100 Secondary Schools by A-level Results

Looking back on 2016, Principal Fiona Pocock was proud to report that Bosworth Independent College achieved a top 100 placement in the Telegraph for the Top 100 Secondary School by A-level Results. To put this into context there are 4,322 schools or colleges currently in the Post-16 category in England according to the Department for Education, so to achieve a top 100 placement is no easy task and places the college in the top two per cent of A-level schools in England.

As a College that focuses on trying to ensure the best result for every individual, and knowing that all its students and teachers have worked exceptionally hard in preparation for examinations; the college was delighted to report this year’s results have yet again outperformed the UK national average with 71 per cent achieving A* to B grades and 86 per cent achieving A* to C grades.

Fiona Pocock said: “The national press and public bodies can react to exam results with statistics and point towards trends, but for us, the results are all about individuals!? Our whole staff share in the success of our students and we are thrilled now to have evidence that effort and dedication pay off.”
