All night sessions

NIGHT time working was one of the challenges taken on by Corby-based SAC Construction to enable the experienced team to complete a new project at the town’s busy Lakeside Healthcare medical clinic.

During the first six weeks of the project it was necessary to operate at night on the site. Now complete, the new consultation and treatment rooms will operate from 8am to 8pm, 365 days a year.

This flexibility is all part of the service for the contractors which is on target to increase sales by around 50 per cent a year.

A large number of projects have already been booked in at schools and colleges across the region to tie in with Easter and summer holiday closures.

Other key projects include:

– An exciting project to build a 65-bedroom care home on a site in Biggleswade, scheduled to start this month.

– The rebuild of two homes damaged in a fire in Milton Keynes on behalf of Bedford Pilgrims Housing Association.

– Work due to start on the construction of a country park pavilion which will provide facilities for a new housing development. This will provide a cafe, changing rooms for sports fields and accommodation for the park ranger.

– Great progress on an office to residential conversion project for Sovereign Land in Corby to create six one and two bedroom apartments.

SAC Construction director Andy Culbert said: "We work with clients from the public sector right through to blue chip organisations who appreciate our flexibility and approach to each project.

"We take pride at SAC Construction in being able to provide an all-round service, from new builds to repairs, and more than 80 per cent of sales are currently from repeat customers with referrals helping to increase demand even further."

As a result of the growth in the business, SAC Construction has moved to larger offices on Burkitt Road on the Earlstrees Industrial Estate in Corby.
