Printing plans come to fruition

DAVENTRY-based printing company Image IT Limited are delighted to announce the launch of www.Planprint-it.co.uk a new online service for printing and shipping large-format colour and black/white plans and prints, on a same day print basis.

DAVENTRY-based printing company Image IT Limited are delighted to announce the launch of www.Planprint-it.co.uk a new online service for printing and shipping large-format colour and black/white plans and prints, on a same day print basis. Image IT has over 20 years’ experience serving the architectural, construction and engineering sectors with wide-format services such as technical drawing scanning, copying and plotting.

In recent years, the company has recognised changes to how the industry operates in distributing such vital information to its clients, suppliers and supporting subcontractors. Traditionally, companies with construction projects to tender would supply a printed set of plans and drawings to each of the relevant interested contractors. T

oday, with the advances in technology, along with increased internet speeds, these printed plans have been substituted by PDF drawing files, often emailed or accessed via cloud-based archives. This has put the challenge of printing into the hands of the recipient, many of whom do not have wide format equipment or the time to find and then drive to a printing company. And so www.planprint-it.co.uk was born “We’ve seen many contractors faced with extra time and expense getting the plans and documents they need to do their job,” said Grainger Hill of Image IT. “We wanted to develop a service which would save them both time and money. “Having spoken to many of our customers who use our Daventry in-store while-u-wait service, we recognised that service levels are paramount, which is why www.planprint-it.co.uk offers both a same-day print and collect service as well as a same-day print and dispatch on a next-day courier delivery service, countrywide mainland UK. “Our objective in creating the planprint-it website is to provide a solution for the many print-related challenges many smaller businesses face having received a large-format drawing file. We’ve designed the site to be easy-to-use while also offering a range of print variants to cater for different users’ needs and to ensure that each plan printed is fit for its intended purpose.

“The site is also mobile friendly, enabling users to organise their plan printing and shipping while they are on the move or onsite by using a smartphone, tablet, or laptop computer. Each user will get a My Account area where they can review passed orders, download an invoice or even create a fast reorder without having to upload the drawings again.

The site will continue to be developed as users needs and requests are clearly understood. Challenge 1 – Getting the plans to us Everyone needs to be able to work on the move. Onsite? No problem. Our simple ordering process allows clients to upload plans and drawings to our website from wherever they are, whether on mobile, tablet or desktop. Challenge 2 – Getting the right tools for the right job Plans are also required for many different uses. Some of our clients simply need large scale plans for reference, others need high quality Colour Presentation Plans or Mounted Panels for exhibitions and consultation review, or even Encapsulated Plans for long term durability onsite. Challenge 3 – Getting the plans to where they need to be We can print plans for in-store collection same-day or print and ship same-day for next-day delivery UK wide by UPS. We hope that our plan printing service will solve many of the challenges our clients have presented us with, and allow them, along with many new users to get on with what they do best.
