Team livery puts firm in a league of their own

BRACKMILLS-based Signs Express is starting 2016 with not just one but two awards on its mantelpiece for its vehicle liveries. In October, owner Mark Meadowcroft and 3M-accredited Chief Vehicle Graphics Technician Brandon Desborough picked up the prestigious Personal Vehicle Graphic of the Year award at the British Signs and Graphics Association Awards – the Oscars of the sign industry. The award was given for changing the colour and graphics on Nissan Motorsport Le Mans car that was shown at a Premier League football match between Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion in March.

The vehicle was Manchester United red and had to be turned into City’s blue for obvious reasons! Not only that, but Signs Express were only told of the job on the Tuesday before the game on Saturday and had to work round the clock to get the job done. They followed this up with the Signs Express Group Vehicle Graphics award just before Christmas Mark said: “We didn’t just win these awards on the quality of the work, although that was an essential part of it. What tipped the balance was the hard work of my chief wrapper and the rest of my team who supported him incredibly well. “Because of this, we met a razor-sharp deadline without compromising our standards in any way. Believe me, they weren’t going to postpone the match because we weren’t ready, so we just had to get our heads down and get on with it.”

Not all Signs Express’s commissions are quite as glamorous as this, but the same skill and commitment goes into every job, from a one-off van graphic to a fleet to a top of the range wrap like this. Signs Express is based on Monarch Courtyard in Brackmills and can be contacted on 01604 769120.
