Breakfast back on the menu

A LONG-running monthly networking group run by solicitors, Rollasons – Daventry Business Club – which closed late last year, is making a return.

Popular demand has encouraged the organisers to relaunch the club which until late last year was a regular entry in the diary.

Numbers had been dwindling after the club took a change of direction but former members have now revived the club with an open invitation to people who do business in Daventry.

Town-based lawyer Peter Rollason, a Partner at the successful law firm in New Street, explained that the club’s former members backed the decision to relaunch the club.

“We have been running the club since 1995 and, at times, there have been 40 maybe even 50 people at the meetings,” said Peter.

“People found the club meetings were a useful way of keeping in touch with other individuals working in Daventry and we hope the new club will attract similar interest.”

The organisers, Peter and his team, have opted for the meetings to be held close to the traditional quarter days. These familiar dates in the legal calendar are traditionally when rent was due for payment.

The first meeting was held in March and then, if the launch goes well, there are plans for further meetings on Fridays. These include Midsummer Day on 24 June (meeting on 23 June 2017) and Michaelmas Day on September 29. The fourth quarter day falls on Christmas Day so plans are afoot to hold the club meeting earlier in December.

Peter said: “The meetings were always held on a Friday so, as luck would have it, the quarter days pretty much coincide with the dates for our relaunched club.”

The meetings will be held at Staverton Park Hotel with a 7am start and business complete by 8.45am. A speaker will be invited to talk at each meeting and there will be breakfast included in the price of £15.
