Packing a punch

FURTHER investment in equipment has been necessary at Moulton Park company Henderson Fabrications to ensure the team can cope with an ever-increasing workload.

Such is the demand for CNC punching, the Kings Park Road firm has bought a fourth Trumpf CNC punching machine. The punching machines can handle sheet metal up to 3000mm by 1500mm and up to 6mm thick on mild steel, aluminium and copper. Rapidly fast, they offer accuracy within 0.02mm so are most effective on parts with many holes, including countersunk holes, threaded and embossed holes.

The new machinery sits alongside the new laser cutter, which was also brought in last year, and together they increase the firm’s capacity to provide design, punching, folding, welding and laser cutting services for a range of sheet metals.

The new laser cutter can cut up to 12mm mild steel, 4mm thick aluminium and 8mm thick stainless steel.

Managing Director Steve O’Looney said: “At the end of our financial year in November we showed record turnover once again. This allows us to continue our investment programme and build on the business.

“Henderson Fabrications is constantly growing, we’ve added a new 5,500 square foot extension last year to house our new, state-of-the-art equipment so that we can offer the best possible service to our customers. On top of that we are laying the foundations for the future in terms of skilled personnel to keep the company moving forward, through recruitment and an apprenticeship programme.”

The 25,500 square feet factory premises in Kings Park Road provide

Henderson offers a complete concept to completion service, designing and creating prototypes where required, and seeing them through to production. Volumes range from a one-off product to a large run.
