SMITHS Fire are celebrating 35 years of trading this year and have been providing a wide variety of professional fire protection services to industry and commerce on both local and national levels.

They say that their continued success has been based on good reliable customer care and value for money service provided by a steady and loyal workforce, the large majority of their staff being employed in excess of 15 years.

The three partners Richard Smith, Jonathan Royles, and John Royles combine together a total of 94 years of experience in the company and oversee the cautious but steady growth pattern that the company is continuing to achieve. John Royles said “Since the early days of the business we have always believed in investing and re-investing in people skills, technology and vehicles. We have actually just taken delivery of another new vehicle which is being used by our growing Electrical department.

Richard Smith added “We are holding an Anniversary dinner that will take place in early October whereby members of staff will be invited to celebrate the occasion”.
Smiths Fire evolved from humble beginnings in a garden shed to its’ present day headquarters which includes offices, workshops, and training centre.

From here the company offers the whole range of fire protection services, supply and service of fire extinguishers, installation and servicing of fire alarms and emergency lighting, to fire risk assessments and various training courses, both in-house and on customers premises.

The company is in good hands as Jonathan Royles, the general manager, has over the years gained a wealth of experience as he has progressed through all the various departments. He says that “the company is now a major player in the provision of fire protection services in this region and we are very excited about the future”.

They also have an impressive client list from corner shops, all sizes of commercial premises, royal house-holds to multi-national companies, many of which have been retained from the start 35 years ago. The Sales Manager Stuart Wildman said that “their loyalty is much appreciated and is a strong indication of customer satisfaction”.

Stuart also said “Fire Protection is something everyone is forced to take seriously, because it is about protecting their business and their workers. We provide a complete one-stop shop for any company looking to ensure that their Fire Protection is complaint with all current legislation.
