WITH the hot summer of 2014 drawing to a close, heat of a different kind needs to be thought about now. The heat that will keep our business premises and homes warm during the winter months.

Burton Latimer-based Griffiths have several energy efficient solutions on offer to assist with ever increasing fuel costs, including a brand new hybrid system that combines a gas combi-boiler and heat pump. For water-based central heating systems using either radiators or underfloor heating, the Daikin Altherma range of air source heat pumps provide over four kilowatts of heat for every one kilowatt of electricity needed to run them. This, coupled with the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), results in a very economical heating solution for new self-build or replacement situations. Fuel costs for anyone currently burning oil could be reduced by around 50 per cent using the standard heat pumps, while the new hybrid system could provide a saving of 35 per cent on current gas costs.

The new Daikin Altherma Hybrid smart controller automatically monitors operating conditions, heat pump efficiency and heat load to determine the most economical running mode that achieves the lowest running cost.

For offices, shops or other commercial areas, the Daikin range of energy efficient air to air heat pumps will provide quick warm up times and cost savings whilst also being able to cool in the summer months. A wide range of indoor units allow the fan coils to be floor, wall or ceiling mounted, or even fully concealed behind panelling and suspended ceilings. Modern inverter controlled compressors and clever weather compensation controls, minimise the electricity costs.

For some homes and small commercial premises, ‘A’ rated gas boilers are still the best option. Griffiths are Gas Safe approved to install new or replacement boilers and to provide the important annual service these units need. Griffiths are taking part in Gas

Safety Week from 15 to 21 September with promotions in their Energy Efficiency Centre showroom in Burton Latimer.

For larger industrial areas such as factories or warehouses, Griffiths offer the Powrmatic range of energy efficient floor standing or suspended gas heaters and destratifcation fans (these fans move trapped hot air at ceiling level back to where it’s needed lower down.)

With all the above products Griffiths can provide the ancillary electrical or plumbing installation services required and most importantly, arrange for the Service Division to carry out the regular service visits to ensure equipment is operating as efficiently as possible.

Contact Griffiths by telephone on 01536 420666, at www.griffithsaircon.co.uk or by visiting the Energy Efficiency Centre showroom at 111 High Street in Burton Latimer between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
