RECENTLY confirmed as the UK’s oldest haulage company, it’s hardly surprising that Wrefords Transport knows a thing or two about providing the vehicles, the staff and the service that bring about continued success.

The fleet of vehicles includes everything from 17 and 26 tonne rigid, curtainside and box vehicles, right up to 44 tonne artics and speciality vehicles, while sister company Woodview Light Transport covers additional customer needs, with 7.5 tonne to 3.5cwt vehicles for courier, overnight and parcel services.

Transport services include UK, groupage and dedicated haulage and European export, while contract distribution with customers’ own livery is an important part of the service. Warehousing, including short and long-term warehousing and supply chain logistics is also available.

Managing Director, Ian Mayes, said: “Since the fourth quarter of 2013 it’s been incredibly busy and we have had a very good summer period, traditionally a quiet time.

“All our drivers achieved CPC accreditation ahead of the September deadline, and all in all we have a team and a service that is ready for bigger and better things.

“We are always looking for new drivers to join our team and we would love to see more young people coming into the industry because it’s sometimes difficult to attract young people into driving jobs. With Wrefords and Woodview within the one site, we have a wide range of vehicle sizes and so provide the ideal opportunity for a young person to learn the job from the bottom up, starting with vans and moving right up to the large vehicles as they progress.”
