As part of the Palletways network the process for booking a pallet for collection from or delivery to Europe is the same as within the UK. With 13 European hubs in the UK, Germany,France, Italy ,Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Eire, Austria, Luxembourg and Poland and more than 350 local members, moving freight around Europe couldn’t be easier. The beauty of the service is that it also taps into the local knowledge of the partner handling the freight in the country where the goods are being delivered.

The digital information hub provides extensive operational and customer data in real time to improve processes, communication, traffic planning and vehicle utilisation. It covers everything from live vehicle status information, which enables constant checks to be made on the location and delivery of all consignments and the proactive management of consignments at risk of any delivery issue, through to delivery profiling, visualised on a heat map to show where deliveries are currently being made, and opportunities for customers to serve new markets nearby.
The company’s online pallet track and trace system is the most advanced within its sector, enabling the current status of every pallet in the UK and Europe, to be identified without the need for a phone call. Visibility and transparency are key showing the location, estimated times of arrival and proof of delivery in real time offering solutions to both the network members and the end customer.
The Palletways Archway Scanner (PASS) uses a network of scanners and HD cameras to scan and photograph every vehicle and each individual pallet through every pallet sortation centre at the national hub. PASS is linked to the vehicle management system and provides full visibility of all vehicles and the location and physical condition of each pallet. PASS is fully integrated with the Digital Information Hub providing instant visual access to information through any internet enabled device.
The network has been trialling a calculated delivery slot which will be provided within the track and trace system, this will be fully operational from March 2017. Once the drivers delivery route has been selected a customised notification will be sent with a 2 hour window for delivery. ETA times will be sent to the delivery contact via SMS or email. Email notification can be dual branded with the customer logo and text and an itemised product list can be provided for consignments, these will be visible on the e mail notifications received by the end customer. This is a major leap forward in enhancing communication to our customers.
