Awards reward branding

By Alan Perkins, Managing Director, SilverDisc

SILVERDISC is pleased and proud to announce its Gold sponsorship of the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards 2017.

Last year’s awards created a real buzz and sense of community among Northamptonshire businesses. As members of The Business Club Northants, which won Networking Group of the Year in 2016, we got to see at first hand the organisation, flair and sheer hard graft put in by Damian Cummins and his team at Events and PR, organisers of the awards, and we were keen to get directly involved this year.

SilverDisc is sponsoring the Business of the Year award for larger SMEs, those with between 50 and 250 employees. This award will go to a business that shows a good combination of initiative, boldness, imagination, sustainable growth, commercial success and sound management practices.

As SilverDisc is a full service digital marketing agency, you may wonder why we’re promoting an offline awards event. There are many reasons but the short answer from a marketing point of view is branding. Getting your brand better known and recognised is usually going to result in better online performance. For example, a recognised brand at number two in the Google search results is likely to attract more clicks and sales than an unknown brand at number one in those same search results. Better clickthrough rates, better conversion rates, better retention rates and a higher customer lifetime value are some of the online results delivered by improved offline branding, and a lack of branding can restrict growth. As one of our clients was shortlisted in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 three years running, an almost unique feat, we understand the effect that branding and award entry can have on growth.

If the above describes your business and appeals to your competitive spirit, please feel free to enter at www.northamptonshireawards.co.uk. Literally, feel free to enter – entry is free! Good luck to all entrants, and I wish you every success building your brand both offline and online!
