CUSTOMERS are getting the best of both worlds as sales of limited edition prints and one-off pieces of art are booming at one of the region’s leading framing centres.

Well known for its bespoke and ready-made frames, The Framing Centre on Wellingborough Road, Northampton, has teamed up with a number of leading artists and galleries to offer a range of quality artwork.

Pieces selling from around £500 up to £8,000 are proving more popular than ever, while the bespoke framing side of the business continues to grow.

Owner Kamal Ravaliya said: “For some years people weren’t spending so much money as the downturn took its toll, but now they are starting to spend again, but they are spending much more wisely.

“Customers have more money to spend, but they want to get something really special and would rather spend time choosing something different and good quality rather than going for the lower end of the market.”

Most of the artwork at The Framing Centre is already framed, often reflecting the wishes of the artist to show off the piece to best effect. Where customers want their own prints framed, there is a wide range of colours, materials and finishes available, and all bespoke frames are made by craftsmen in the workshop above the store.

Framing ideas and advice can be seen on The Framing Centre’s website, details are given below, while expert advice is available at any of the Framing Centre outlets in Northampton, Buckingham, Yarnton, Bracknell and Horsham.

The Framing Centre also frames sporting memorabilia, medals and certificates and carries out a number of contracts for companies looking to refurbish reception areas or boardrooms.

Part of the Wellingborough Road store also houses a wide range of Hallmark cards, gifts and wrapping paper – perfect in the run-up to Christmas, whether for a framed picture or any gift.
