BUSINESSES on Brackmills have helped shape a new business plan which has identified clear priorities to ensure the estate and its residents grow and thrive over the next five years.

Thanks to surveys completed by Brackmills staff and employers, the estate’s Business Improvement District (BID) team has gained a clear insight into what businesses on the estate want and need to function effectively, and what the BID can do to help.

Priorities identified include improved broadband speeds, improved access on and off the estate, support with training and temporary staff and a continued focus on security.

Brackmills has thrived as an estate since companies voted yes to becoming a BID in 2009 and in the past year alone recorded crime has dropped by 10 per cent to an all-time low and major highways projected have been completed.

The BID’s first five year term is now approaching its end so businesses on the estate are now being asked to vote yes to a further five years. The BID’s Business Plan for 2014-2019 will be launched this month and in March there will be official BID ballot.

Sara Homer, Chair of the Brackmills BID, said: “To continue to progress from all that we have achieved and to also action the activities businesses have identified as priorities in the coming years it is essential that we maintain our status as a Business

Improvement District and do not revert back to a tired, pre BID Estate. Vote Yes.”
