Who runs the world? Smartphones

FOR the first time ever the smartphone is the UK’s most popular device for going online! We know that people engage with digital content better than ever, and day by day it is easy to see that more and more people are working on the move. So, unless you are somebody who has been running from the smartphone monster, this shift in technology usage wont come as much of a surprise.

Industry monitor Ofcom, however, has described the news as a “Landmark moment.” I was reading an article on the Guardian website recently and the writer was saying that “Two-thirds of adults now have a smartphone, up from 39% in 2012, and the amount of time we spend using them to go online has risen to one hour and 54 minutes per day.” That is a lot of time every day to be looking at your phone! It can’t be denied that younger age groups are driving statistical changes like this but it has to be said that we all have benefits to reap from a smartphone. From a business perspective, smartphones provide the ability for people to be productive from anywhere. The right Smartphone can help a business save money, be more efficient and expand the range of markets it can reach.
