‘The perfect replacement for existing technology’: Electric pump is set to transform manufacturing

REDUCED energy use, cheaper to run and more environmentally friendly… a new electric diaphragm pump developed by a company based in Wellingborough is set to transform the chemical, nuclear and pharmaceutical industries.

CDR Pumps (UK) has unveiled introduce its QUANTM electric diaphragm pump that features a new electric motor design, is lighter, more reliable and easier to maintain.

The company says the pump uses up to 80% less energy than rival models.

“Its intelligent, straightforward, cost-efficient, clear, and ecologically sound design makes it the perfect replacement for pre-existing pumping technologies,” a spokesman told business-times.co.uk.

The pump does not require any compressed air, does not ice and will stall under pressure. It is self-priming, can be run dry and can manage both solid and abrasive fluids.

“You can control the flow and pressure at the pump, and it can be operated remotely,” says the spokesman.

CDR Pumps has been manufacturing chemical process pumps for more than 60 years and opened in the UK in 1998. Its global manufacturing facility is in Italy.
