In the ideal location

AFTER moving from Northampton, where it had been based for 16 years, to new premises in Wellingborough just over a year ago, Paul Cox Panel and Paint has found that the move works well for everyone.

Regular customers at the former Crow Lane Industrial Estate premises find little problem with the short additional journey time to Finedon Road in Wellingborough, while the new location has opened up a completely new customer base for the car repair specialists.

In addition, the move to larger, 10,500 square foot premises has enabled the expansion of the firm, which now employs 15 people and has 22 vehicle bays, and has invested over £300,000 on new state-of-the-art equipment.

Owner Paul Cox, said: “We spent a long time searching for the right premises when it was time to move and Wellingborough ended up ticking all the boxes. The road links to our new base are excellent and it hasn’t disrupted customers, who come from Northampton, Kettering and Corby, as well as the surrounding counties, and, of course, it’s perfect for our Wellingborough customers, new and old.”

Paul Cox Panel and Paint specialises in car and light commercial vehicle repairs and is a BSI kitemark accredited body shop. It is insurance approved and also approved by manufacturers Mazda, Hyundai and Kia, but carries out work on all makes and models, whether under insurance claims or privately, as well as undertaking classic car restorations or specialist paint projects should they arise.

All technicians hold NVQ certification and follow the BSI/manufacturers approved methods for repairs, while a number of technicians have retrained specifically to work on electric vehicles, a sector of the market that is looking set to continue growing over the next few years.

Paul added: “We have a solid customer base but we have to be ready for market changes. Both Hyundai and Kia have a new range of electric vehicles and we needed to be able to repair them safely and correctly.”

For customers needing alternative transport while work is being carried out, Paul Cox Panel and Paint has a fleet of courtesy cars and vans in a range of sizes available.
