WE have said it before, and we will not change our view that too many small business owners and managers spend far too much time on trying to solve problems outside their own sphere of competence when they would be much better advised to concentrate on what they know and do best.
There is no stigma in using professionals to help in areas where your own knowledge is limited. It’s what they are there for! Whether it be solicitors, accountants or specialists in raising commercial finance like us at Business Finance Services Ltd., our job is to help you solve commercial problems as they arise and to help you to grow your business.
Do not be afraid or too proud to ask for help. Our national economy relies heavily on small business – acorns to oak trees etc. – and is likely to do so in the future. We therefore need them to be operating as efficiently and profitably as possible. When it comes down to it, there are many sources of help and advice for the small business. These include both national and local government institutions, colleges and universities as well as professional and commercial consultancies. As an example, in Northamptonshire we now have the Growth Hub which is heavily supported by the University of Northampton. This has been set up for the specific purpose of supporting SMEs. There are also other well-established organisations such as the Chamber of Commerce and the FSB who can provide a great deal of help and guidance.
The role of BFS is to help to find our clients the best possible solutions to whatever their problems. For example, we are organising a series of free seminars on the subject of Alternative Sources of Commercial Finance.
