Blaze forces business to evacuate Kettering industral estate

FIRE crews are maintaining a cordon around business premises in Linnell Way, Kettering, after a major fire broke out in a commercial workshop this morning (February 9).

Businesses were evacuated but no injuries were reported. A total five fire engines remained at the scene into the evening. A 100-metre cordon around the site had been imposed for public safety.

A spokesman said: “Although the fire is under control, there remains some acetylene cylinders that pose a risk due to how hot they still are, which require us to manage the scene until they are deemed safe.”

The incident is expected to be resolved by Friday morning (February 10).
