HR Solutions of Kettering, which provides outsourced HR services to small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the UK, is expanding with the acquisition of HR Services (UK) Limited of Milton Keynes and the opening of an office in the town.
The acquisition will see the two businesses merge and Elaine Pennell, owner of HR Services (UK) Limited, will move over to HR Solutions and take on the role of Senior HR Consultant at the company. Elaine’s clients will also be making the move with her to HR Solutions.
Elaine said: “I started HR Services (UK) ten years ago after working as Head of HR for a global IT organisation. My job involved a lot of travel and I wanted to use my knowledge and experience to create my own business that offered HR services on a retainer basis to firms without a HR department. The business quickly grew through networking and word of mouth and evolved into the success it is today.
“I was approached by HR Solutions and quickly realised that this would be a great opportunity, not only for both of our businesses, but also my clients. My clients will still have me as their point of contact and access to the same services they have always had, but also the option of additional services I could never offer them, such as payroll, recruitment services and the provision of training courses. Also, with a larger team comes fast response times and access to a wealth of HR advisors and consultants for support.
“I have been approached about selling my business before but quickly recognised that HR Solutions held the same values as me, both personally and professionally. Like me, they aim to be the best they can possibly be at what they do and customer service is paramount. I have no doubt that my clients will be looked after here and the response I have had from them about the merger has been extremely positive.”

The acquisition of HR Services (UK) coincides with the opening of an office at Midsummer Court in Milton Keynes. A space that will provide a base for HR Solutions to meet with and service clients in the area.
