Inspirational meeting rooms

HILTON Northampton have recently revamped their meeting rooms and turned them into unique rooms connected to Northampton, with each room having been named after a key heritage part of the town. The meeting rooms have been designed to be one of a kind, providing memorable experiences for guests.

The newly designed rooms include the Althorp room, where guests can toast Princess Diana. Alternatively, they can speed along in the Silverstone room and zoom up ideas in a brainstorming session or get creative and inspired in the Derngate room.

“Our meeting rooms were previously called Meetings 1 to 5, which the team agreed needed updating. We put our creative heads together and named four of the meeting rooms based on Northampton’s heritage and culture,” said Jacky Jowers, Group, Conference and Events Manager at Hilton Northampton. “It is great to see our vision come to life and we cannot wait to see how our guests receive the new rooms and change the way small meetings are held at the hotel.”

Further details of the hotel’s heritage meeting rooms:

Derngate room: Inspired by the Royal & Derngate theatre which opened in 1884, is a central attraction in the town of Northampton and last year it welcomed more than 314,000 to the area. The Derngate meeting room allows guests to feel inspired and deliver great results in a unique and vibrant room.

Althorp room: Named after one of the most beautiful stately homes in England and a major tourist attraction with over 500 years of history. Althorp meeting room honours the much-loved Princess Diana, as this key part of Northampton’s heritage is globally known for being her birth and burial place.

Mackintosh room: Based on 78 Derngate, this art deco room is inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and allows guests to get creative while holding successful meetings.

Silverstone room: Northampton is lucky to have one of the UK’s major race tracks on its doorstep. The British Grand Prix is held at Silverstone during July and this is major weekend for tourism in Northampton.

Abington room: Abington Park is Northampton’s oldest and most popular park. It contains features like Abington Park Museum and beautiful scenery. Therefore, it is a great design for the new meeting room to create history and a positive atmosphere.
