DISCERNING diners across the county have been able to familiarise themselves with the Franks Hamburger House name, with restaurants in Cogenhoe and Towcester lining up alongside two Northampton restaurants and one in Wellingborough.

The Towcester restaurant is the newer of the two in the south of the county, opening last year to bring the Franks rustic feel and relaxed, welcoming ambiance to a whole new audience.

Like their stablemates, the Towcester and Cogenhoe restaurants offer a wide and varied choice of burgers, many of which are named to reflect the chain’s Northamptonshire roots, which is also the thinking behind its ethos of using quality local ingredients wherever possible.

Even the names of the burgers remind diners exactly where they are – from the Carlsburger (with pepperoni, roast red pepper and Cambozola) to the Guildhall Fundamental (a red onion and coriander burger with sweet onion and tomato relish, Cheddar and a fried egg).

The Franks menu opens with a range of starters that includes nachos for two to three people, chicken wings and baked Camembert, and moves on to the list of burgers and Not Hamburgers, that includes the Sheep Street lamb and mint burger and the Saints chicken, chorizo and smoked cheese burger, as well as vegetarian options. A range of extra toppings, sauces and sides are also available.

Franks Hamburger Houses were founded by local food entrepreneur Tom Hewer, and his company also offers outside catering for events and business lunches.
