WITHIN the next five years South Northamptonshire will see considerable growth following a programme of large-scale residential and commercial development and investment into the area.

Construction on the Moat Lane development in the heart of Towcester has now begun. The scheme will provide a new civic building as well as various retail, restaurant, office and industrial units to be offered to the market. South Northants Council will relocate into Towcester town centre and bring a large number of employees to supplement the town’s daytime economy. Berrys with joint agents Angermann Goddard and Loyd are instructed on the disposal of units in the scheme, which should be ready for occupation in late 2015. The recent opening of Whittlebury Brewery within the Mill Building at the end of Chantry Lane has fuelled excitement and anticipation for the delivery of the scheme.

The A5 Watling Street and the Sponne Shopping Centre in Towcester still remain popular with recent lettings to It’s a Gift and Italian Plants ensuring that the centre is fully let.

Five miles west of the town sees more exciting developments for South Northants. Following MEPC’s purchase of Silverstone Circuit in September 2013 and the subsequent acquisition of Jordan Technology Park from TV presenter Eddie Jordan, Silverstone Circuit is set for enormous growth. There are plans to develop 2.4 million sq ft of Silverstone Park into one of the world’s leading clusters for cutting edge and precision engineering companies. By 2024 it is expected that the number of occupiers on site will double to more than 100 with around 4,000 jobs being created.

At such an exciting time for South Northants Berrys are well placed at the Tove Valley Business Park in Towcester only five miles from the entrance to Silverstone Circuit and a stone’s throw from the Moat Lane development.
