AS part of its growth strategy, Briggs Equipment has acquired Wellingborough-based Hitec Lift Trucks Ltd, enhancing its coverage and strengthening its presence in a key geographic area of the country.
Hitec Lift Trucks will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Briggs and will continue to trade under its own name with all current operational contacts remaining in place. Following completion of the acquisition, Hitec will represent the Hyster brand of fork lift trucks. Briggs recognises that Hitec has produced consistent revenue and profit growth in recent years and believes that through being part of the Briggs group, Hitec can achieve superior growth and fulfil its potential going forward.

“The intention is to keep Hitec Lift Trucks exactly as it has always been – it will be business as usual and while we have agreed to continue working with Cesab for the next 12 months, ultimately we will be representing the Hyster brand.
“As a result of the acquisition, we are able to offer customers a much larger range of machines and we have access to so much more in terms of resources, product training and support.
“It was important for Hitec to have more investment in order to grow the company and carry on with our long-term goals.”
